sabPHOTO's images have been published in several newspapers, magazines, posters for festivals, book and music cd covers etc, in several countries.

This photo project is documenting a few small shops of West Bengal, India. The photo’s are not arranged, no extra light are used. The equipment is only one single compact camera, the Leica Q with it’s 28mm fixed lense. Taken like snaps, like a tourist visiting tourist spots, but the differences are the motives. The motives are the shops, the owner’s, employee's, customers, suppliers, surroundings and visitors. Retail markets and shops have a very ancient history, dating back to antiquity. Over the centuries, retail shops were transformed from little more than "rude booths" to the sophisticated shopping malls. Retailing in India is one of the pillars of it's economy. The Indian retail market is estimated to be one of the top five retail markets in the world by economic value. India is one of the fastest growing retail markets in the world. India's retailing industry are essentially small shops. Larger format convenience stores and supermarkets accounted were present only in large urban centers. India's retail and logistics industry employs about 40 million Indians.
